KEER SANDS TESTIMONIALS

I have worked in a number of care homes over the years and I have never experienced a home as extraordinary as Keer Sands. What a wonderful place it is. â€‹â€‹

My mother is so well looked after. The staff are amazing. When I visit I am always welcomed by a staff member, however busy they are. I am always offered a hot drink.. and usually receive a piece of delicious home made cake or biscuit with it!

The senior staff are very knowledgeable about my mothers health issues, and if there is a problem they are on it straight away. They always listen to any concerns I have about her health and act accordingly. My mother is always saying how lovely her meals are. She can choose to eat in the dining room or in her own room. She is not pressured to do something she doesn't want to do.

The staff respect the residents and are always kind and caring to each individual one. Having been a nurse for many years I can spot bad care straight away, and I have NEVER seen any bad, unkind care at Keer Sands. The carers treat all the residents as if they were their own family, and indeed Keer Sands is just that, a family. They laugh and joke with the residents, they chat and interact exceptionally well.

The home is clean and comfortable. Homely.

My mother says she would find it very difficult to find anything wrong with Keer Sands and she is right. My mother could not be in a better place. She feels safe and looked after. I feel she is safe and well looked after. What more could I want.

It is an outstanding home.

I consider Keer Sands, both residents and staff, as my second family. The staff know each resident intimately, they understand each persons needs and respect their wishes.

Although few of the other residents really chat much, I never feel lonely due to the staff talking and interacting with me all the time.

I have to have assistance when going up and down the stairs. If I ring my call bell they come immediately, and no staff make me feel like I'm being a nuisance . I feel respected by the staff and my opinions matter.

The home is spotlessly clean and has no 'care home smell' which is extremely important to me. Every person is cared for with quiet dignity and looked after very well.

My laundry is done so quickly!

I have a nice room with a fantastic view. The staff often come in to look out of my window and we discuss what we can see out there in the way of birds/ rabbits etc. My bedroom is a very peaceful place to be.

The food is excellent. Good quality food and all home cooked.

Recently I was taken ill suddenly and the staff were amazing. They immediately called for an ambulance, and whilst I was in hospital they visited me, and also kept in constant touch with my daughter to see how I was progressing.

I couldn't ask to be in a better place. There isn't one.

Resident June 2025

I have had the great delight of visiting Keer Sands on many of occasions offering pastoral support in my role as Parish Priest of the parish. On each occasion I have been greeted with generous hospitality and a warm welcome. The staff not only offer me the epitome of kindness and warmth, but it is clearly evident that this warmth of character is given to each of its residents.

I have been blown away with the care shown to those people in their care. The constant checking of resident’s wellbeing, the inclusion of them within conversations, and the constant seeking to improve their care is adroit and insightful. Vikki, Anne and all the staff are equally aplomb at dealing with difficult situations as well as the general day to day routine tasks, they are loved profoundly by the residents and their families. From the minute you walk in the door you realise that you are not only a resident of Keer Sands but a member of the Keer Sands family, and I can with all honestly say I wouldn’t have to think twice about confidently sending my own relatives into the care of Keer Sands if it was ever needed.
