THE HISTORY OF KEER SANDS

Nestled in the countryside just outside Carnforth, Keer Sands residential care home was opened in 1990.

The building was originally the barn and shippons of Marsh Gate Farm that was first built in 1771.

Anne Plevey’s parents and grandparents farmed Friesian cattle there when it was named Eden Brook Farm. When we converted the barn into the comfortable residential home we have today, we changed the name to Keer Sands after the River Keer, which flows into Morecambe Bay a quarter of a mile away.

There are beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, we have our own fishpond and a lovely conservatory where you can sit and relax and enjoy the summer flowers.

There’s space for 10 residents, in eight single and one shared room and of course all the accommodation complies with the CQC guidance on safety, comfort and suitability of premises for residential care homes.

Come and stay with us at Keer Sands to enjoy your retirement, maintain your independence and relax in the safety and comfort of professional care.
